Please be advised that Green Shield Canada (GSC) has issued an update to all individuals covered under their policies traveling to COVID-19 affected areas.
The University advises all members of the community to carefully consider any non-essential business and personal travel that is planned in the coming weeks. The situation is evolving rapidly in many parts of the world and travel restrictions may be imposed on short notice.
Up-to-date COVID-19 related travel advisories can be found on the Government of Canada website.
GSC has prepared a Coronavirus FAQ [PDF], which provides the latest information on travel implications and health-care coverage related to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Please note that if you travel to an area after a travel advisory has been issued by the Government of Canada, any medical claims related to that travel advisory (i.e. COVID-19) will not be eligible for reimbursement.
