Mentees

Back to Indigenous Mentoring Day

Explore a career at U of T

Starting at 9 a.m., you will spend the day learning and experiencing a career you’re interested in.

Mentees will job-shadow for the day, allowing them to ask questions and experience firsthand what a day in the life of their desired career has to offer.

After a morning with your mentor, we invite all mentees and mentors to attend a lunch and networking event from 12 until 1:30 pm for the chance to meet with more mentors from different professional backgrounds. Michael White, Special Projects Officer with Indigenous Initiatives, and other Indigenous members of the U of T community will also share their employment experiences with attendees and offer further insights into life at the University. Following the lunch, we invite all mentees to participate in a networking session with some of the top Indigenous employers across the GTA. The networking session will take place at First Nations House for the remainder of the afternoon.

We are seeking Indigenous / Aboriginal job seekers with:

  • A complete or in-progress post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The ability to work with mentors in a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Curiosity and candor
