Menopause is a normal, natural, inevitable, and universal physiological event that all women go through. There’s a myth that menopause affects older women. In fact, perimenopause (the years leading up to menopause) and some bothersome symptoms can start in a woman’s late 30s or early 40s. Menopause isn’t new but now women are working right through it and hot flashes, night sweats, sleep difficulties, brain fog, anxiety, low self-esteem, loss of self-confidence, can negatively affect women’s quality of life, relationships, and work. Women and the organizations they work for benefit from menopause awareness, education, and support in the workplace.
Teresa Isabel Dias is a pharmacist with over 25 years of experience in community pharmacy and drug information in the GTA, and a menopause practitioner (NCMP) certified by the North American Menopause Society. In 2013 she founded MenopausED, a boutique-style, virtual women’s health practice, specializing in menopause, to help women navigate the change so they can thrive in their lives, relationships, and careers. Teresa Isabel raises awareness, provides menopause education, and helps women experiencing symptoms and challenges during the menopause journey and beyond. She provides individual consultations, workshops, corporate health and wellness education, and a members-only WHIM (Women’s Health In Midlife) Network community of women for women.
