Tentative agreement on a COVID-19 specific Letter of Understanding for Faculty and Librarians

The University Administration and the University of Toronto Faculty Association are pleased to announce the following:

The parties have reached a tentative agreement on a COVID–19-specific Letter of Understanding (the “COVID LOU”). This agreement is subject to ratification.

This tentative agreement addresses various issues on which the COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact regarding the responsibilities, workload, and professional activities of many faculty members and librarians including agreement with respect to workload, accommodation guidelines, reimbursement of COVID-related professional expenses, and course evaluations. The parties have also reached agreement for the payment of PTR for the 2020-2021 assessment period, which will allow for payment in the October 2021 pay run of PTR retroactive to July 1, 2021. If ratified, details of the COVID LOU will be communicated by the University Administration to PDAD&C and by UTFA to faculty and librarians.

UTFA Council is holding its ratification vote on Monday August 9th, 2021.
