|Re:||USW Job Evaluation Update – Agreement Reached re Implementation|
Last year, we implemented a good portion of the USW positions in the new job evaluation system. Since then, we have worked with the Union to complete the evaluation of the remaining positions: those newly-created or reclassified during the period August 2007 to May 2011 (referred to as ‘Wave 7′).
I am pleased to advise you that an agreement has now been reached with the Union regarding the implementation of Wave 7.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed this afternoon and this document will be posted here as soon as possible.
Earlier today, a memo was sent to employees in the USW Staff-Appointed Unit, Local 1998 advising them about this development. A copy of this memo is available here.
With this agreement now in place, we are proceeding with implementation for November 2012 provided that an IT upgrade to one of the University’s major systems that supports our payroll function is completed on schedule.
Over the next week we will provide you with an update on the implementation and your Divisional HR Offices will be working to get you more detailed information about how this impacts the positions in your areas.
