In 2019, the University of Toronto launched a multi-year, annual global benchmarking program called UniForum, designed to help enhance how we deliver and resource administrative and support services across the organization. UniForum also enables us to compare U of T’s service delivery with 50+ peer institutions around the world, such as the University of Cambridge, University College of London, the University of Melbourne and the University of British Columbia.
Last year, in light of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University opted to pause the Year 2 data collection as we adapted to new work conditions. This Spring, we will resume the UniForum data collection, looking retrospectively at activities from the most recent fiscal year (May 1, 2020 – April 30, 2021). This year’s participation is of particular importance as it will give us insight into how our delivery and resourcing of services changed during an extraordinary time for the institution and the higher education sector as a whole.
In May and June, CAOs, directors and managers will be called upon to contribute data for their areas. Similar to Year 1, detailed information and instructions, as well as support will be provided throughout the process. We will also capitalize on our learnings and data from Year 1 to ease the process for you.

Your contributions will help us better understand the great work that our colleagues across the university performed to support our teaching and research operations during the pandemic.
