On January 1, 2018, a new requirement under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 came into effect increasing vacation pay entitlements for employees with five or more years of service. Following a consultation process on the impact of this legislative change, the University has reached an agreement with CUPE 3902 Units 1 and 3 regarding how this legislative change will be implemented for employees in these bargaining units.
Please note that no immediate action on your part is required and the University is currently in the process of an implementation plan. Once next steps have been finalized, a further communication will be circulated regarding timelines and instructions.
