For the past several years, the Division of Human Resources & Equity and Information Technology Services (ITS) have worked to develop guidelines to clarify entitlements for access to University of Toronto email and other systems and, in particular, when access to U of T systems should be removed.
The new Guideline: Email Accounts for University of Toronto Staff, Faculty and Librarians can be accessed on the HR & Equity website.
With respect to U of T email privileges, it has been jointly determined that the University will no longer continue to provide email access to staff once they have retired after July 31, 2019.
Going forward, staff retirees who are graduates of the University of Toronto can request an Alumni email address upon retirement. More information about how to request this email account is available on the Alumni Email website.
